Dear Senior Families:
The 2019-2020 FAFSA is now available online. It is recommended any student going to college next fall do the FAFSA to apply for all possible financial aid. Some colleges and universities require the FAFSA to be submitted, even if the family doesn’t qualify for need-based aid.
The FAFSA can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov or you can make an appointment with our NW Iowa ICAN advisor, Mary Joan Dougherty. She has offices in Sioux City, Orange City, and Sheldon. Office hours are 8:00-4:30, and you can schedule your own appointment online (don’t forget to hit the submit button at the bottom of the web screen!) at: www.icansucceed.org/apt or you can call 877-272-4692 or her direct line at 515-402-4211 to schedule. All appointments are free of charge.
Each college has a priority date. You should submit the FAFSA by the earliest Priority Date of the schools to which your student is applying. This ensures you will be eligible for the most possible financial aid.
You may also call Mary Joan with questions or email her at: [email protected].
